Definition of Interface Register
An interface register is a list of identified interface issues, with brief description of each, plus status, need date, criticality, etc
It may be specific to a particular team or contract; and may be viewable in different ways, for example by status (open/closed).
Interface registers traditionally were kept in spreadsheets, but in most large projects “live” updated registers are available as reports from the software tool used to manage interfaces (many systems are available - of variable quality and with slightly different function and purpose).
Interface Register is sometimes confused with Interface Document or Interface Agreement or Interface Schedule
Alternate terms that are more or less the same as Interface Register include Interface Control Catalogue (ICD).
